Scope of Practice
I have 20 years of clinical experience in various settings, including university counseling centers, primary care clinic, women’s resource center, cancer wellness house, assisted living facility and community agency. I bring with me a wealth of experience, high attunement, depth, understanding, and compassion. I have been honored to bear witness to some of the most challenging life experiences and the consequent transformations. I believe that we all have within us the capacity to heal ourselves. And that healing happens when you are seen, understood, and supported in making the necessary change in life. My interest areas are the following concerns:
Gender/race/ethnicity/LGBTQ concerns (dealing with oppression of all forms and internalized oppression - racism, sexism, heterosexism, transphobia; racial identity; coming out process; women's and men's concerns; gender identity)
Grief/loss (death, break-up/separation/divorce, adoptees going through loss, abortion, pet loss)
Family/interpersonal/relationship concerns (wondering about your relationship – whether to stay or leave, difficulty entering relationship while wanting one, wanting to repair or improve relationships)
Anxiety/panic attacks/obsessive-compulsive behaviors, trichotillomania, and depression
Life Transitions (coping with life changes/events/illness, undergraduate or graduate school, graduating, moving, engagement/marriage/remarriage, aging/middle age)
