(Pronouns: She/Her/Hers)

"Love is everything it's cracked up to be .... It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, your risk is even greater"

Couples Therapy

Loneliness kills us, emotionally and physically - literally. Loneliness and disconnection in a relationship is even harder on both partners involved. As Robert Waldinger mentions in his "What makes a good life?" Ted Talk, "good relationships keep us happier and healthier. Period." If the quality of our most important relationship is so important to us, why is it that we fail at it miserably? It's because we live in a society that teaches us the opposite of what we need to succeed in relationships, e.g., rugged individualism, independence, avoiding conflict. Consequently, we hardly get the right kind of education or modeling when it comes to dealing with conflict constructively and connecting deeply with another human being, even when we think we love them so much. We don't know how to do it! Not because we don't want to! And where do we learn to do it? From all the wrong places, including Hollywood, social media, our parents, etc. On top of that, we all have our own histories of attachment injuries, whether that be from our first family or from a series of failed relationships. No wonder divorce rates continue to escalate. Good relationships take work! Even our mind and body take work to maintain and build, so do happy, satisfying relationships!

What makes a good life?: Lessons from the longest study on happiness

"Love is a constant process of tuning in, connecting, missing and misreading cues, disconnecting, repairing, and finding deeper connection. It is a dance of meeting and parting, and finding each other again, mnute by minute, and day by day."
(Sue Johnson, Love Sense)

The good news is that we have cracked the code on how to build and develop a loving and healthy relationship. We have the map to guide us to shape the loving relationship you deserve.

" If science has taught us anything about emotion, it is that we should never underestimate its power and value. It has shown us how emotion figures into our most intimate relationships and shapes them. ....... The better you are at listening to and distilling your emotions and sending clear emotional signals, the better your relationships will be."
(Sue Johnson, Love Sense)

And more importantly, the outcome makes the work so much more worthwhile! You can spend the rest of your life enjoying and sharing your life with your partners, minus the heartaches, the doubts, and the loneliness. So why wait???
We're wired to connect and attach and to be interdependent, so why be less than all these?
If you are ready to change your current relationship to make it better, I would be honored to help you create the kind of relationship that you want and deserve!
Now that you are ready to work on your relationship, let's get working. Check out the online resource below to help your relationship blossoms!
Making Marriage Work (John Gottman)

I integrate Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) into my couples work. The American Psychological Association recognizes EFT as a best practice and evidence-based model for working with  couples in distress. I enjoy working with all couples including interracial, LGBT, mixed-orientation, and mid-life or older couples.
